Make communication your natural strength

Does this sound familiar?

"As soon as I'm in front of a group, I find myself glued to the script.
I can't put it down, despite all my preparations."

"I'm not connecting with the audience. There are too many of them.
Why are they so quiet?"

"This is no fun. I want to get it over with as soon as possible."

Or are you afraid the audience will think:

"He's too stiff and boring. Way too hesitant."

"He's only there to hear his own voice. What am I doing here?"

"Does this guy even know what he's talking about?"

* * *

Many speakers just go through the motions without even considering whether they're reaching the audience. Others speak only because they're expected to. A pro gives a presentation to win over the audience.

Pros know the difference between selling an idea and just talking about it. Pros know their craft, and know that success is the product of the details and the speaker's approach to the listeners.

How do you create assurance and faith in your audience? How do you make sure every individual in the room feels you're talking specifically to them?

Three Basic Rules:

Rule number 1: Don't try to be funny. Don't force humor.

Rule number 2: Don't try to act.

Rule number 3: Don't think so much about yourself.

Three Golden Rules:

Golden rule number 1: Use the moment—stay on your toes.

Golden rule number 2: Be yourself—use your strengths.

Golden rule number 3: Show the audience that they are important.

No matter why you're speaking in front of a group—as a lecturer, emcee or executive, the same three ground rules and golden rules apply.

• It's about conveying your most important information.

• It's about being exciting and interesting to listen to.

• It's about being credible and entertaining.

Prepare for your conference. Prepare for the international trade fair. Prepare for your big moment. Make sure your presentations are suited to the context: the international environment, the professional arena.

Be interesting and inspiring to listen to — use your strengths. Learn to handle your audience with personality and strong presence.

Communicate professionally.
Make the most of large-scale events.

My courses and lecture, "Make communication your undeniable strength" focus on:

• How to act in front of big groups.

• Conveying exactly the concept you want.

• Keeping the attention of the audience.

• Being entertaining and personal, while remaining credible.

• The difference between selling an idea and just talking about it.

• How to deal with a "dead" room.

• How to handle the interaction between visual aids–audience professionally.

My goal is that the people I train and guide will become so skilled that they will belong to the world's elite public speakers.

You must be receptive.

You must be bold.

You must have the will.

Make your presentation easy and fun for you.

Get over the obstacles in yourself:

"I have to be entertaining, funny."

"I have to show that I'm sure of myself, that I'm in charge."

"I have to be convincing!"

"I have to build credibility."

"I have to show how good I am."

Don't act — be yourself.

One important tip is: Don't worry about success. Success is a by-product.

Success is a result of your ability to handle the situation, to be yourself, to explain things simply and clearly, and to show the listeners that they are important to you.

Talking in front of a large group of people means huge exposure — and when done correctly, huge results.
